Episode 1: In this very first episode of THE SMALLEST THING, Em has a plan to leave her dull English village. But something strange is going on and Em’s plans are about to be derailed.

Episode 2: Dr. Spencer is dead and Em’s friend Deb has information. Plus, I take you on a scenic tour of Eyam. You can see my slideshow tour of Eyam here: https://youtu.be/vpVFEHJQ48A

Episode 3: Em attends Dr. Spencer’s funeral and people in the village are starting to panic. Plus, I have my own quarantine wobble and get some sound advice from my mum.

Episode 4: Em and her neighbors get some unwanted visitors and I answer your burning questions.

Episode 5: Em finds herself trapped in the last place on Earth she wants to be, with the last person she wants to be trapped with. Then, get your pigeons, dried toad, and Mastiff puppies ready, because I’ll be sharing some very dubious so-called cures for the Plague.

Episode 6: Em tries to reach friends and family outside the quarantine zone and has her first encounter with fake news. Plus, I look for some unexpected silver linings emerging from our current global pandemic.

Episode 7: In this week’s episode, a stranger arrives in the village. Plus: How characters sometimes walk onto the page and take over a story.

Episode 8: Em thinks about the value of self-preservation and what it means to sacrifice for others. Plus, I talk about mental health during lockdown and share a resource for dealing with loneliness.

Episode 9: I share more about the true story of the real Emmott Syddall and Roland Torre, and about the role their meeting place played in the story of Eyam during the plague. Plus, our Em and Ro have their own meeting, as Em puts her plan together.

Episode 10: Em tells Deb her plan to escape and uncovers a family secret. I talk about the power of human touch and what happens when we can’t hug one another.
